“There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens” Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

We all resonate with the soul-stirring lyrics of “Jireh” — “You are Jireh, You are enough. And I will be content in every circumstance. You are Jireh, You are enough.” The resonance of the song has the power to welcome the Holy Spirit.
Pause for a moment and ask yourself, “Am I genuinely content in every circumstance?” Reflect on your heart posture in this season of your life. Are you at peace with where God has placed you? Do you find yourself dwelling on the past or fantasizing about the future? Regardless of your current reality, are you thanking God for the life that you live today?
Personally, I try to always make it a habit to constantly thank God for everything, especially when He suddenly answers a long-time prayer. But at times, I wonder if my gratitude is enough. What do I mean by that? There’s always that part of my mind that’s like “Okay, what’s next?” I’m always thinking of the next move, the next phase, the next chapter of my life. Although it is a great habit, I believe that sometimes I need to savor the present moment. I truly need to ponder to praise Him for the incredible, newly answered prayer that He has graciously placed in my life.
This also happens at the “not so great” time in our lives. When we find ourselves in a difficult circumstance, it’s easy to reminisce about better days and happier moments. Yet, as Ecclesiastes 7:10 wisely advises, “Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions.” Even if your situation is not what you desire, have faith. As 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT) reminds us, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Think of a puzzle. The puzzle box gives the final image, but to put it together, you continually refer back to it to determine where each piece fits. Similarly, with God, He gives us visions. These visions unfold in the form of different seasons—little puzzles, each essential in bringing the complete vision etched in our hearts to life. It’s a process of continuous acknowledgment, making sure that each piece aligns with God’s plan. As God reveals additional pieces, trust that the puzzle is taking shape, indicating closeness to the fulfillment of your vision. Do not worry when the promise is not yet your reality. What you see does not cancel what God says. Each season is a necessary detail of the masterpiece that God has for your life.
Life is a process. If God said yes to ALL of your earthly desires, He would be saying NO to your spiritual growth. Also, how would He get the glory out of your story? At the end of the day, you need to build up your faith. Sometimes we are so in our head with where God is taking us that we can’t even enjoy where he’s brought us. For example, the Israelites constantly forgot that God brought them out of Egypt, out of slavery. Yet, they kept complaining over and over again, they started wishing that they were back in Egypt because apparently, they were “better” fed there. But notice the faithfulness of God. Every single time, he protected them, provided for them, and made a way. To put this into perspective, reflect on your prayers from a year ago. Are you not living those answered prayers? God is so faithful. It’s truly amazing how one day you’re standing at the center of the very thing that once felt impossible. It reminds me of the amazing song by Nathaniel Bassey:
Jesus iye You have done it again Jesus iye In your special way What was impossible You've made possible Jesus iye
Brethren, today I encourage you to live in the moment no matter what it looks like. I know that it is a common struggle to always think about the next step or the future, even after receiving answers to prayers, but appreciate the current blessings, and praise God for answered prayers and His grace. Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin (Zechariah 4:10). Reminisce on the faithfulness of God in your past, and trust and believe that he will indeed make a way soon. But for now, be still and rest in His goodness.
As we learn to be content in every circumstance, let’s pray with the authority that he has graced us with:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this new day, thank you for breathing into my lungs. If I have woken up today, it means that my purpose is not yet over. Lord, my current situation is not what or where I imagined I would be, but I trust and believe that you have not forgotten about me. This is just a season. Your “no” to certain desires is often a “yes” to my spiritual development. Although I am eager to move to the next phase in my life, I will not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. So Lord, from the bottom of my heart, I pray that I produce the fruits of the Holy Spirit, especially joy to be content in the present, patience to endure this situation, self-control to not compare and walk away from your guidance, peace, and faithfulness to trust your plan for my life. I challenge this flesh, I crucify this flesh, and boldly proclaim that I shall be content in every circumstance. Thank you Jesus for your grace and faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray.
Amen
With love,
Carmaïssa
